What are IIAS and IASIA? |
The IIAS is an international association with scientific purpose based in Brussels . As a non-governmental international organisation its activities are centred on the study of public administration and it provides a forum in which comparative studies ? including both practical experiences and theoretical analyses of experts in public administration worldwide and from all cultures ? are presented and discussed.
The IASIA is an association of organizations whose activities and interests focus on public administration and management with a world-wide membership of about 190 institutions in 70 countries. What are their roles in International Public administration? |
Established in 1930, the IIAS is almost 80 years old. In spite of its respectable age, the Institute is focussed on the future. Specifically and to summarize, the Institute aims to promote the development of the administrative sciences, to improve the organisation and operation of public administrations at all levels, as well as to develop effective administrative methods and techniques. Lastly, the IIAS contributes to the progress of governance within international administrations.
The world-wide membership of IASIA provides organisations from various parts of the world, having the same concerns, with the opportunity to consider and advance their interests from a global perspective. This capacity at once makes mutual support and assistance more possible and helps serve the needs arising from the increasingly international nature of the environment in which governments and their public services are called on to operate. It also facilitates initiatives which may enhance the institutional and operational effectiveness of member organisations and of the public sector internationally.
